CALL FOR ADMISSION OF STUDENTS TO THE FIRST YEAR OF MASTER’S STUDIES

  1. GENERAL CONDITIONS
  • The University “Ukshin Hoti” in Prizren will enroll 250 students in postgraduate master’s studies for the 2025/26 academic year.
  • Of this total, and based on Administrative Instruction No. 09/2016 of MASHTI, the University will enroll up to 12% (up to 29 students) from non-majority communities. The 12% quota reserved for students from non-majority communities will be proportionally distributed according to the percentage of the total number of students in each faculty program.
  • Candidates eligible to apply include those who have completed a Bachelor’s degree or basic studies prior to the Bologna Declaration in any accredited higher education institution in Kosovo. Under equal conditions, preference will be given to candidates who completed their basic (Bachelor’s) studies at the University “Ukshin Hoti” Prizren.
  • Candidates who completed their undergraduate studies outside Kosovo may also apply. In such cases, the candidate must provide a decision on the recognition/nostrification of their diploma issued by MASHTI.
  • Candidates who have completed previous studies in one field may apply for a master’s program in a different field. If admitted, the Study Commission of the respective academic unit may assign differential exams to be taken in advance. The number of such exams will depend on the comparability of the candidate’s previous program with the intended master’s program, with a maximum of five differential exams. These exams are administered before a three-member committee and their records are ratified by the council of the relevant academic unit.
  • Candidates already enrolled in any study program at any level within the University are not eligible to apply for another program unless they have completed or officially withdrawn from their current studies.
  • Candidates applying for admission to the University “Ukshin Hoti” Prizren for the 2025/26 academic year may apply to only one faculty, department, or program.
  • For humanitarian considerations, candidates with special needs will receive an additional 5 bonus points on the entrance exam. The status of candidates with special needs must be proven with relevant certificates issued by competent institutions.
  1. METHOD OF CANDIDATE SELECTION

The selection of candidates for all faculties will be based on the following criteria, with a maximum of 100 points:

  • Success in basic studies: up to 30% of the points
  • Success in the entrance exam: up to 70% of the points

Only candidates who achieve at least 40% of the points on the entrance exam are eligible for ranking and admission.
Candidates who fail to reach this 40% threshold cannot be admitted, even if there are unfilled places.

If the total points of candidates ranked at the bottom of the accepted list are equal to those of other candidates outside the planned quota, selection will be based on:

  1. Entrance exam results (higher score prevails).
  2. If those are also identical, the undergraduate GPA will be considered.
  3. If still tied, female candidates will have priority.

Faculties are required to send the complete list of applicants to the University Rectorate and publish it on the official university website.
Academic units first publish preliminary results, giving unsuccessful candidates the right to appeal. Only after the appeals are reviewed are the final lists released, which must not exceed the total number of seats announced in the competition.
Candidates at the bottom of the preliminary acceptance list are not guaranteed admission until the appeals period has ended.
