The University “Ukshin Hoti” Prizren in partnership with DokuFest (International Documentary and Short Film Festival) and Innovation and Training Park (ITP) will organize the second edition of Prizren International Summer School, which will be held from 31 July -11 August 2023. ISSP will offer seven courses (each with 4 ECTS) covering a wide range of study fields. All courses will be held in English. After the successful fulfillment of the course, the participants will get certificates according to the European System for Transferring the Credits (ECTS). In addition, a rich array of extracurricular program will be offered to the students and personnel, including accreditation to the DokuFest international film festival, and different excursions around Prizren as one of the most unique and ancient cities in the Balkans (South-East Europe). Detailed information for the events and the agenda will be published widely at the University website before and during the Summer School courses.

The Second Edition of the ISSP 2023 is open to all students and will help all participants to gain from new methods of lecturing and research as well as enjoying the international atmosphere. For a period of two weeks modules will be taught by eminent international professors from the top European universities and will provide the opportunity for local and international students to learn and share their experiences.

Students around the world from all disciplines and fields of studies

Participants/students, who attend at least 80% of classes and pass exams, will receive ECTS credits through “The Certificate of Prizren International Summer University”. This certificate includes the description of the course, student ECTS credits, and grades.

The certificate declares the name of the participants and will be signed by the visiting professor of ISS and the co-professor. Certificates are designed according to the Bologna standards.

* English will be the language of communication in all courses at the International Summer School (ISS) 2023 Edition

  1. “Data Mining for Business Intelligence: A Coding and Non-Coding Perspective”
  2. “International Finance: Blockchain Challenges and Opportunities”
  3. “International Law and the Use of Force: Recent Developments”
  4. “Exploring linguistic and cultural identities through films”
  5. “Measuring Sustainability and Resilience of Agri-food Systems”
  6. “Media(ted) Discourse and Society: Rethinking the framework of Critical Discourse Analysis”

Fee info

No fee (including free accommodation for selected students)

Students from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia will be considered for a scholarship for free accommodation.

Information about University “Ukshin Hoti” Prizren

Located in the city of Prizren, University “Ukshin Hoti” in Prizren (University) was established in 2009 as the second public university in Kosovo. It inherits the experience of former Pedagogical High School, a branch of University of Pristina, which operated since 1961.

Information about DokuFest:

DokuFest, International Documentary and Short Film Festival, is the largest film festival in Kosovo. Each year the festival fills the cinemas and improvised screening venues around historic center of Prizren with a selection of more than 200 hand-picked films from around the world.

Founded in 2002, with the aim of revitalizing cinema and the cultural life in Prizren, DokuFest grew and expanded into the most important documentary and short film festival in Southeast Europe and from 2019 is a BAFTA qualifying festival for short films. Documentary photo exhibitions, debates, master classes and lively music events are all part of the 9 days of the festival.

Information about: Training Park (ITP) Prizren

ITP Prizren is a focal point in the Balkan region for innovation, business and skills development, and a source of innovative and successful ideas.
