SUPPLEMENTARY CALL FOR THE ADMISSION OF STUDENTS TO THE FIRST YEAR OF BACHELOR STUDIES ACADEMIC YEAR 2025/2026

  1. General Conditions

The University “Ukshin Hoti” in Prizren, for the first year of studies in the supplementary admission period for the 2025/2026 academic year, will enroll 610 students, all of whom will be full-time students.

Within this total number, and in accordance with Administrative Instruction No. 09/2016 of the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (MASHTI), the University will admit up to 12% (maximum 122) full-time students from non-majority communities. The 12% quota reserved for students from non-majority communities will be allocated proportionally according to the total number of students in each faculty program.

Based on MASHTI quotas, the University may also admit up to 5% (maximum 57) candidates from Albania, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and the municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac , and Medvedja. Candidates born in these areas who have completed secondary education in the Republic of Kosovo will be subject to the same admission requirements as candidates from Kosovo.

Exceptions to the specific conditions outlined above: if candidates from non-majority communities or from the listed neighboring regions qualify within the general quota specified in paragraph 1, they will not be counted within their respective reserved quota.

On humanitarian grounds, candidates with special needs will be granted an additional 5 bonus points in the entrance examination. Their status must be proven by official certificates issued by the relevant institutions.

The University will not grant admission privileges for twins if one twin fails to qualify for admission to the same or a different program.

All Kosovo candidates who have completed secondary education in any licensed public or private school in the Republic of Kosovo and hold a valid diploma are eligible to apply.

Candidates from other countries may also apply under the same admission conditions as candidates from Kosovo. Applicants who completed secondary education outside Kosovo are considered non-Kosovar candidates. The decision on recognition and equivalence of diplomas is issued by MASHTI.

The University will provide entrance examinations in the language in which candidates completed their prior education and/or the language they declare in the self-declaration form, except in specific cases where the exam is prepared in the language of instruction of the study program (e.g., programs in the Faculty of Philology).

Academic units will verify all pedagogical documentation (transcripts, diplomas) in the language in which candidates from non-majority communities completed secondary education.

False statements in the self-declaration form are considered a criminal offense under Article 391 of the Criminal Code (Law No. 04/L-082) of the Republic of Kosovo.

Candidates who are already enrolled in any study program at any level at the University “Ukshin Hoti” Prizren may not apply to another study program within the University without first completing or officially withdrawing from their current program.

Applicants for admission to the University “Ukshin Hoti” Prizren for the academic year 2025/26 may apply to only one faculty or study program.

  1. Candidate Selection Method

The selection of candidates for all faculties will be carried out according to the following criteria:

  • Applicants without a Matura exam (holders of a secondary school diploma who did not take the state Matura):
    • Maximum total points: 100
    • Secondary school performance: up to 30 points
    • Entrance examination: up to 70 points
  • Applicants with a Matura exam (holders of a secondary school diploma who successfully passed the Matura):
    • Maximum total points: 100
    • Secondary school performance: up to 30 points
    • Matura exam result: up to 30 points
    • Entrance examination: up to 40 points

The entrance examination is prepared on a 100-point scale; the scoring system converts results to either 70 or 40 points, as applicable.

Only candidates who achieve at least 40 % of the total possible points on the entrance examination are eligible for admission.
Candidates who do not reach this 40 % threshold cannot be admitted, even if places remain unfilled.

Exceptions:
In accordance with paragraphs 2 and 3 of Section I, candidates applying under those specific criteria must achieve at least 30 % of the total entrance-exam points to be eligible for admission. Any unfilled places from these reserved quotas will not be reallocated.

Each faculty determines the subjects on which the entrance exam is based and is responsible for administering the exam.

Faculties must submit the full list of applicants to the University Rectorate and publish the list on the faculty’s official website.

If the final admitted candidates have equal total points and there are more candidates than available places, selection will first be based on the entrance-exam score. If those scores are also equal, the secondary-school performance will serve as the tiebreaker.
