Jaime Rubin, Ph.D.<\/span> is Professor and Vice Chair for Investigator Development in the Department of Medicine at Columbia University in New York. She received her undergraduate degree in physics at the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, also in New York. Her doctoral degree, from the University of Toronto in Canada, described the first molecular identification of a human DNA repair gene. Her current, as well as previous positions at Columbia University, have all involved the support and career advancement of junior investigators, from students to new faculty. Her responsibilities also include research development and management, at institutional as well as local levels. She teaches formal courses at Columbia University on \u201cResearch Ethics\u201d and \u201cBest Practices for Funding & Grantsmanship\u201d, as well as similar workshops and seminars for other organizations across the U.S. Her efforts also include initiating and developing effective programs to diversity the research workforce. He is currently the immediate past president of World Education Research Association (WERA) and professor of Curriculum and Instruction at Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University. He has worked as a DAAD-TUBITAK professor at the Institute for International Comparative and Intercultural Education in the University of Hamburg, Germany for two years. He was a visiting Professor and Honorary Research Fellow at the Institute for Policy Studies in Education at London Metropolitan University, UK in 2011.
