The University of Prizren and the Employment Office Suharek\u00eb Strengthen Cooperation for the Integration of Youth into the Labour Market<\/h3><\/div>

On 27 February 2026, an important meeting was held between representatives of the Zyra e Pun\u00ebsimit Suharek\u00eb<\/span><\/span>, namely Ms. Mehreme Hoxha, Head of the Office, and Mr. Liridon Baraliu, Employment Counselor, and the Rector of Universiteti “Ukshin Hoti” Prizren<\/span><\/span>, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mentor Alishani. The meeting focused on strengthening institutional cooperation and creating concrete opportunities for integrating graduates into the labour market.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the possibility for graduates of the University \u201cUkshin Hoti\u201d Prizren to undertake professional internships at the Employment Office in Suharek\u00eb. This internship will serve as an important platform for developing practical skills, gaining familiarity with administrative procedures, managing jobseeker cases, and engaging in active labour market programs. The internship at the Employment Office is paid (minimum wage), while other measures offered by the Office (Superpuna, KGjenu, Government for the Family) each have their own specific compensation schemes. Students are encouraged to visit the Office to benefit from these services.<\/p>\n

The parties also discussed the possibility of mediating professional internships for graduates in private businesses and local enterprises, through coordination between the Employment Office and the private sector.<\/p>\n

This cooperation aims to:<\/p>\n

    This meeting represents a concrete step towards building a sustainable mechanism of interinstitutional cooperation, with the goal of creating new opportunities for graduates and supporting local economic development.<\/p>\n

    The institutions agreed to further formalize this cooperation through a joint action plan, including the organization of an informational session for graduating students, thereby laying the foundations for a long-term partnership in support of youth professional development.<\/p>\n
