Prizren will serve as the upcoming gathering point for the “Drita e Gonxhës”
The caravan of the cultural-scientific manifestation “Drita e Gonxhës” today visited Prizren, where the publications of ITSHKSH and the Bishopric of Kosovo were presented. The host of today’s event was the University “Ukshin Hoti”. The Rector of the University, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Mentor Alishani, was enthusiastic about the continuation of this manifestation in Prizren, a city known for its traditions and deep connection with the Bojaxhiu family.
To commemorate the life and activities of Mother Teresa, a series of events have been planned across various institutions, cities, and countries within the region and beyond. As part of these activities, a significant event will take place in Prizren, specifically at Prizren’s University. “I would like to express my appreciation to the Dean, Prof. Xhafer Beqiraj, and the Director, Mr. Skender Asani for making this manifestation possible and for honoring our University with it”, highlighted Alishani. “Words like humanity, love, charity, dedication, peace, assistance, sacrifice, inspiration, service, and a holy life reflect the depth of her soul and the profound influence that Mother Teresa had in helping the poor and sick around the world,” emphasized Alishani.
The Director of ITSHKSH, Skender Asani, discussed the dynamics of this manifestation and then elaborated on specific outcomes resulting from the publishing and scientific activities of the Department for Preserving the Heritage of Gonxhe Bojaxhiu, also known as Mother Teresa. He emphasized the significance of recognizing this important figure, which will soon be designated as a ‘state asset’ by RMV. As a result, ITSHKSH has allocated funds to establish a dedicated department, responsible for various initiatives, including the publications being presented today in Prizren, as the magazine “Drita e Gonxhës” is.
Don Lush Gjergji, a representative of the Bishopric of Prishtina-Prizren and the author of Mother Teresa’s biography, discussed the unique aspects of her life and work. He also presented several other book titles dedicated to Mother Teresa, all of which have been translated into various foreign languages. At the end of today’s event, the Director of ITSHKSH, Asani, distributed some of the books to the Rector of Prizren University.
The scientific-cultural event “Drita e Gonxhës” will continue tomorrow in Prishtina. Vjosa Osmani, the President of Kosovo, will participate and plant a fir tree there. This fir tree originates from the seeds of the original fir tree that once stood in Skopje, which was associated with Mother Teresa.
