On Monday, the Rector of Prizren University “Ukshin Hoti”, along with the university’s management team, held a meeting with Dr. Cassie Barnhardt, the leader of the “Private Sector Partnership for Improving Higher Education” project, which is supported by USAID, and her collaborators.
The main topic of discussion was the progress of the project, in which the university is participating through the Faculty of Computer Science and the Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences. The project is currently in its initial phase.
During this meeting, Rector Alishani highlighted the importance of addressing university issues and emphasized the project’s main objective, which is to align university study programs with the needs of the industry.
Dr. Cassie emphasized that the project had a successful start and expressed appreciation for the active participation of Prizren University.
Both parties emphasized their commitment to further collaboration to ensure the success of this project and to benefit other universities involved in the process.
Among other objectives, the project aims to increase the analytical capacity of faculties, assisting their engagement with the market through partnerships with the public and private sectors. It also seeks to strengthen collaboration with the private sector to enable universities to develop curricula that align with market needs, support scientific research opportunities that benefit the private sector, and enhance experimental teaching (practices, mentoring, project-based teaching) in the fields of information technology and agriculture by improving faculty competencies to work with students.
