He not only eliminated the self-imposed limitations within academia but also paved the way for the survival and progress of our future universities. This act symbolizes a profound alliance between self-aware individuals and the wide expanse of knowledge. Speaking in Prizren, the very place where this alliance was sealed 145 years ago, Prime Minister Kurti emphasized our historical and political responsibility to establish a solid foundation for a multidisciplinary university that thrives on collective intelligence.
During his speech, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Mentor Alishani, the University Rector, highlighted the influence of Ukshin Hoti’s work on our own endeavors. He played a crucial role in building Kosovo, a place where freedom and human dignity are honored. He reminded us that the values and the idea of a unified nation overcome ethnic divisions. On this solemn occasion, let us honor his legacy and embrace his spirit of resistence and devotion. Together, let us strive to achieve our goals and foster a society where freedom, justice, and tolerance dominate.”

Andin Hoti further emphasized that while Ukshin Hoti may not be physically present with us today, just as 1600 others that were forcibly disappeared by the Serbian criminal forces are not. Yet, his spirit lives on in this University, in our schools, on the streets, and in every Albanian household. The pain of his absence has persisted for 24 years, but our pride in his name and legacy grows stronger,” he expressed.
