The representatives of the American Embassy visited the University “Ukshin Hoti” Prizren
Prof. Asoc. Dr. Samedin Krrabaj, acting Rector at the University “Ukshin Hoti” in Prizren, on Wednesday hosted a meeting with representatives of the US Embassy, composed of: Kevin McCaughey – Regional English Language Officer in Belgrade, Ray Nayler – Deputy Public Officer, Lejla Selimi- Youth and Minorities Specialist, Enis Rexhepi- Innovation Learning Coordinator, William Trub- English Language Fellow.
The meeting also discussed the continuation of cooperation with the program to support mobility for academic staff, the opening of a Master level program at the Faculty of Philology and other projects where the university needs.
Acting Rector Krrabaj thanked them for the continuous support over the years of the Faculty of Philology and the University and for the willingness shown to continue supporting the development of the University in the future.
Meanwhile they also visited the university library and the English Language and Literature laboratory.
In the meeting was also the Vice Rector for Teaching, Student Affairs and Scientific Research Prof. Ass. Dr. Albana Plakiqi-Milaimi and Prof.Ass.Dr. Vice Rector for International Cooperation and Quality Enhancement, u.d. Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Prof. asoc.dr. Flamur Shala and the head of the English Language and Literature Branch, ass. Dorine Rakaj.
The US Embassy has supported the University over the years. Academic staff, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Sejdi Sejdiu has participated in programs offered by the US Embassy, such as: Open World 2017, Fulbright Scholar, IVLP, etc.
The English Language Program has benefited from grants provided by the US Embassy, such as: University Support Grant 2018 – Facilitation and Resources for Teacher Training Support.
We are extremely grateful to the American Embassy for providing us with Fellow in English Language and Assistant in English Language over the past three years.
The Real Case Criminal Law Clinic at the University Ukshin Hoti, was launched in October 2017, through the Search for Justice program, supported by the US Department of State. Starting in October 2018, the Clinic is supported by the USAID Justice Value Activity along the workshop with the academic staff of the Faculty of Law, from Ohio Northern University.
ELF and ETA support is required to be provided as it is a recommendation from the accreditation expert.
The English Language Study Program has been re-accredited for a period of 5 years, from 2021 to 2026; it is one of the most sought after study programs at our University.
