"Ukshin Hoti" Prizren University, beneficiary of the USAID project - Cooperation with the Private Sector for Strengthening Higher Education
Today, Prizren University “Ukshin Hoti” signed a highly important project agreement with USAID worth 4 million dollars. The project will be implanted by the Iowa University along with three public universities in Kosovo. The main objective of the project is to strengthen the collaboration between the private sector and Kosovo University in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and agribusiness.
This project is a huge success for the university, as it will transform the study programs in these fields by preparing the graduate students for the labor market. The development of the alumni and career center will serve as a connecting bridge between employers and students. The university has offered spaces for the experts who will be employed for this project, with the aim of improving the capacities of our university’s alumni and career center.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti and also the US Ambassador Jeffrey Hovenier both welcomed the signing of the agreement.
This project will help on increasing the opportunities for students to adapt skills for the labor market demands and ensure positive changes in the development of the ICT and agribusiness sectors.
The agreement was signed by Ganim, the representative of the Iowa University and the three Kosovo’s public universities; University “Haxhi Zeka” Pejë, University “Ukshin Hoti” Prizren and University “Hasan Prishtina” Prishtinë.
University “Ukshin Hoti” expressed its gratitude to USAID, the State University of Iowa, and the Kosovo Education Center for their commitment to the private sector collaborative project aiming to strengthening higher education. Meanwhile, UUHP is certain that from the project will benefit the young people of this institution, the industry and the development of Kosovo. Also, UUHP congratulates all the staff and students of the Faculty of Computer Sciences and the Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences, believing that this project will open new paths towards the improvement and further development of our university.
During this inauguration, the Rector was accompanied by Prof. Ass. Dr. Zirije Hasani, Vice-Rector for Teaching, Student Issues, and Scientific Research; Prof. Assoc. Dr. Arsim Susuri, Vice-Rector for International Collaboration and Quality Assurance; and the deans, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Ercan Canhasi and Prof. Assoc. Dr. Albana Milaimi.
