The Rectors’ Conference of public higher education institutions convened today at the University of Prishtina, where Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mentor Alishani, Rector of the University of Prishtina, was unanimously elected Chair of the forum. In accordance with the rotating system, Prof. Dr. Armand Krasniqi, Rector of “Haxhi Zeka” University in Peja, was appointed Deputy Chair.

The meeting commenced with the approval of the minutes from the previous session held in Mitrovica, before continuing in Gjilan. On this occasion, several multilateral cooperation agreements were signed between Kosovo’s public higher education institutions to strengthen inter-university collaboration, enable the exchange of academic and research expertise, and advance the quality of teaching and scientific activity.

Discussions also focused on the accreditation of academic programs and the challenges of student enrollment. Special attention was given to the harmonization of study programs and ensuring quality standards in higher education.

At the conclusion of the meeting, members underlined the importance of the Rectors’ Conference as a unified institutional platform, serving to coordinate strategic actions and foster the further development of higher education in the Republic of Kosovo.
