International Summer School Prizren 2023
On Monday, the second edition of the International Summer School began at Prizren University ‘Ukshin Hoti.’ The official opening of the ceremony was conducted by the Rector, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Mentor Alishani. Deputy Prime Minister Emilia Redzepi and Erol Bilibani from DokuFest, co-organizers of the event, also took the opportunity to say a few words.
Within the SHVNP, 6 modules from 6 academic units have been established. These modules will host a diverse group of local and international students from various countries around the world. The modules planned for this year contain contemporary and compelling topics: Data for business intelligence: perspectives from coding and non-coding approaches, International finance: Blockchain challenges and opportunities, Recent developments in International Law and the use of force, exploring linguistic and cultural identities through films, Measuring sustainability and resilience of agri-food systems, Discourse and Society: rethinking the critical discourse analysis framework. A total of 336 students from 45 different countries are participating, including Poland, Hungary, Turkey, Italy, Germany, Greece, England, Austria, France, Belgium, as well as countries from other continents such as Argentina, Russia, India, Australia, China, and the USA. The Organisational Council reviewed all applications and successfully admitted the planned number of 200 students.
In addition to the curricular part, many extra-curricular activities are planned, making this event even more attractive and magnificent. Scheduled to take place from July 31 to August 11, 2023, across the premises of the University “Ukshin Hoti” in Prizren, the Innovation and Training Park (ITP), and the charming city of Prizren, this event promises a memorable experience. True to the tradition of esteemed events and organisations, the SHVNP will open and close with a solemn ceremony where many local and international eminent personalities will be invited, including representatives from the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, the Ministry of Economy, the Prizren regional municipalities, as well as delegates from various other public and private institutions.
The implementation of SHVNP not only fulfils the KAA requirements for university-level re accreditation but also enhances the institution’s image within the country and beyond. The organization and execution of SHVNP 2023 will have an extraordinary effect on the internationalization process of the University “Ukshin Hoti” Prizren. This will be achieved through the establishment of contacts and the sharing of positive experiences among staff and foreign students of different countries from around the world.
