University 'Ukshin Hoti' Prizren Participates in ValuED Project to Enhance Value-Based Education and Teacher Development Policies
The project “Advancement of value-based education through the reform of teacher development policies and school practice” (ValuED), where the University “Ukshin Hoti” Prizren is also a beneficiary, has been officially presented. This ambitious project aims to improve teachers’ competencies to reflect and advance values-based education.
Rector Prof. Assoc. Dr. In his speech, Mentor Alishani emphasized the importance of this project for the University of Prizren and for education in Kosovo. Rector Alishani underlined that one of the main goals of the project is the development of quality mechanisms in education, focusing on European quality assurance practices in teacher training.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci participated in the launch conference of the project “Advancement of value-based education through the reform of teacher development policies and school practice (ValuED)”, which aims to help the advancement of the practical implementation of the curriculum, where key principles and values such as democracy, citizenship and equality are treated as fundamental concepts.
This Project will be implemented by the University of Prizren, MAShTI, Graz University, Ludwig Maximilians University (Munich), KEC, EdGuard, coordinated by the University of Pristina.
On this occasion, Minister Nagavci emphasized that the fact that the collaborators in this project include Kosovo universities and educational NGOs, as well as universities from friendly countries such as Austria and Germany, is proof of the strong foundation on which this project has built its perspective.
Among other things, Minister Nagavci expressed the readiness of MAShTI for coordination and coordination of the steps to be taken, given that the project is of a structural nature, and as such it is understood that challenges are inevitable.
Nagavci said that, since taking the mandate of the Government, the Ministry of Education has put special emphasis on the professional development of teachers, while announcing that, in the last three years, a total of 16,959 teachers have been trained in 172 different training programs and 5,360 career licenses were also granted.
Nagavci also congratulated the Faculty of Education for the work towards the advancement of teachers, but also for the importance it gives to international cooperation with projects and initiatives, which are carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Education.
The rector of UP, Qerim Qerimi, Lucia Parducci from the EU Office in Kosovo, the dean of the Faculty of Education, Blerim Saqipi and the rector of the University of Prizren “Ukshin Hoti” also spoke about the importance of the Project, which aims to develop teaching practices. ”, Mentor Alishani.
