

Commemorative Academy Held in Honor of Prof. Dr. Sabahajdin Cena
Today, on January 13, 2026, at the Amphitheater of the Faculty of Economics of the University “Ukshin Hoti” in Prizren, a Commemorative Academy was held in honor of Prof. Dr. Sabahajdin Cena, organized by the Faculty of Philology on the occasion of the third anniversary of his passing.
This academy honored the academic, scientific, and human legacy of Prof. Dr. Sabahajdin Cena, an eminent figure in higher education and Albanian philological studies. Through welcoming addresses and commemorative presentations, his valuable contribution to the education of generations of students and to the development of scholarly thought was highlighted.
Speeches were delivered by the Rector of the University “Ukshin Hoti” in Prizren, Prof. Dr. Assoc. Mentor Alishani; the Mayor of the Municipality of Rahovec, Mr. Smajl Latifi; as well as professors Flamur Shala, Xhafer Beqiraj, Fikret Ramadani, and Gjyle Totaj, who shared memories and reflections on the life and work of Prof. Dr. Sabahajdin Cena.
In her capacity as Dean of the Faculty of Philology and as a scholar of his work, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Vjollca Dibra delivered a special address dedicated to the book “Albanian Legendary Folk Prose”, emphasizing its scholarly importance and its contribution to studies of folklore and Albanian cultural heritage.
On behalf of the family, Prof. Dr. Sabahajdin Cena’s niece, Ms. Hygerta Ejupi, also addressed the audience with a moving speech, expressing gratitude to the institution and the attendees for the continued respect and remembrance of his life and work.
The Commemorative Academy brought together colleagues, students, family members, and admirers of Prof. Dr. Sabahajdin Cena’s work, reflecting both institutional and societal respect for his enduring academic and cultural legacy.
