Human Rights and Gender Equality Officer

- Coordinates university activities in cooperation with other relevant local and international bodies and institutions;
- Coordinates and supervises the implementation of human rights activities in relation to all relevant groups;
- Assists and monitors the implementation process of laws adopted by the Assembly of Kosovo that fall within the responsibilities and competencies of the University;
- Participates in the drafting of sub-legal acts, as well as actively engages in various commissions and working groups;
- Prepares university data for reporting to relevant local and international human rights mechanisms, and prepares the University’s responses to the recommendations of these mechanisms. Implements research projects for analyzing the human rights situation and collecting data;
- Plans and drafts the Action Plan;
- Handles complaints from parties (University staff and those receiving services from the University) who claim that their rights have been violated by the University, and provides recommendations to the Head of the Division for Human Resources Management;
- Coordinates and plans activities related to Human Rights and Gender Equality, including assessing capacity-building needs;
- Supervises, advises, and when necessary, guides and provides recommendations to University decision-makers regarding the protection and respect of human rights. Undertakes programs and projects that improve and promote human rights in all areas addressed by the University, through networking with NGOs, municipalities, media, etc.;
- Ensures that all decisions, policies, and legal projects issued, proposed, and drafted by the University comply with international human rights standards;
- Performs other duties as required by the Head of the Division;
- Reports to the Head of the Division for Human Resources Management (Personnel Manager).
