Tal Pavel

Tal Pavel is an academic and researcher with extensive expertise in the geopolitics of cyberspace, particularly within the Balkan region, holding current professorial roles at the Dunărea de Jos University of Galați in Romania and Alma Mater Europaea and the Faculty of Information Studies in Slovenia. His research significantly contributes to understanding Balkan digital security, with publications on Romania’s cyber sovereignty, national policies in Slovenia, and the regional geopolitical implications of cyberattacks against Albania. His professional footprint in the region is further established through his roles as an executive board member for the European Research Institute for Strategic Studies (ERISS) in Slovenia and an expert for the New Strategy Center in Romania.

Josip Lasić

Research Associate in the field of humanities (philology) at the Institute for Migration Research in Zagreb, Croatia. University professor of Croatian linguistics (2004–2025) on University of Warsaw (Poland) (2004–2007), University of Split (Croatia) (2008–2022) and University of Zadar (Croatia) (2022–2025). Academic and professional training in sociolinguistics and socio-onomastics (University of Helsinki, Finland, 2011) and linguistic landscape (University of Warsaw, Poland, 2013). Research focuses on the relationship between dialects and the standard language; Croatian linguistic and cultural history during the 1960s and 1970s, linguo-culturology, sociography and socio-onomastics and Croatian as a heritage and ancestral language in overseas diaspora communities.

The University of Prizren “Ukshin Hoti,” in collaboration with DokuFest — the International Documentary and Short Film Festival, proudly announces the Fourth Edition of the International Summer School Prizren (ISSP), to be held from 5 to 14 August 2026. The ISSP 2026 extends an open invitation to distinguished international professors to join us in discussing and elaborating on key contemporary topics across diverse fields, including economics, agri-food, technology, law, education, and languages. Courses will be delivered in English and are designed for both national and international students, not only from the Balkans but from around the world.

 

 The course modules provided by the International Summer School (ISSP) 2026 Edition:

  1. Faculty of Law – Deepfake, Disinformation, and Artificial Intelligence: Contemporary Challenges of Legal Regulation
  2. Faculty of Computer Science – Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Digital Technologies
  3. Faculty of Philology – Translation and Cultural Narratives
  4. Faculty of Education – Future Learning Cultures
  5. Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences  – Green Products and Sustainable Consumer Behavior
  6. Faculty of Economics – Digital Transformation and Future Business Models

Each of these courses has its own module with a brief description of the topics that will be covered during the 10 days of lessons and exercises. Each professor will be followed and accompanied by a local professor, covering the practical part of the program.
