Registration in Master studies

GENERAL CONDITIONS

Candidates who have completed Bachelor studies or basic studies in all accredited Higher Education Institutions in Kosovo can apply for postgraduate-master studies at the University “Ukshin Hoti” in Prizren. Under similar conditions, priority for admission will be given to candidates who have completed their basic studies – Bachelor at the University “Ukshin Hoti” in Prizren.
Candidates who have completed preliminary studies in one study program may apply for registration in master studies in another program. In case of acceptance, the Studies Committee of the academic unit may set differential exams that candidates must undergo in advance. The Studies Committee determines the number of exams depending on the degree of comparability/similarity of the program with the basic studies of the candidate. Candidates will have a maximum of five differential exams which they will undergo before the three-member committee while the council of the relevant academic unit ratifies the minutes of such exams.
Candidates who have completed their basic studies outside of Kosovo are also eligible to compete. In such cases, the candidate must bring the decision on the nostrification of the diploma (the decision on recognition/nostrification of diplomas is issued by MESTI).
Candidates who have registered for a study program at any level of study within the University, do not have the right to compete in another study program at “Ukshin Hoti” Prizren University, without completing their studies in the program where they are continuing their studies or without was deregistered from the current study program. Candidates for admission as UUHP students in the academic year 2022-23 cannot compete in more than one faculty, direction, or program.

SELECTION OF CANDIDATES

It will be done in accordance with the provisions of the University Statute and Regulation no. 01-494 for the Determination of Criteria for Master Studies

The maximum number of points according to the following criteria is 100 points, and that:

  • Success in basic studies up to 30% of points;
  • Success in the entrance exam up to 70% of the points;

Students of “Ukshin Hoti” Prizren University, who have achieved an average grade of 8.0 or higher in their Bachelor’s studies, can enroll directly in Master’s studies. The selection of candidates up to the predetermined number by competition is done according to the priority ranking list of the average grade achieved during bachelor studies, while students with points equal to the 8.0 grade of the University, in case of completing the number with the same grade, are subject to the entrance exam.
Students who have studied in other state or private universities and colleges, regardless of the average grade, will be selected after the candidates who have studied at the “Ukshin Hoti” University in Prizren, and who have met the previous criteria, have been selected. In cases where the number of candidates presented is less than the number announced by the competition, then students with an average grade below 8.0 can be accepted, but they will be subject to the entrance and qualifying exam, based on the criteria, which is determined by The relevant faculty.
Only candidates who reach the minimum of 40% (for those applicants who will undergo the entrance exam) from the number of points required for the entrance exam, until the vacancies required by competition are filled, have the right to admission. Candidates who do not reach the passing threshold cannot be accepted even if there are unfilled places according to the competition.
If the number of points of some candidates ranked last in the admitted list is equal to other candidates outside the number planned for admission, the selection of candidates will be made on the basis of the success of the entrance exam, and if also the exam points recipients are the same then the success of the basic studies will be taken into account. If the success is the same then female candidates will have priority. Faculties are obliged to send the list of candidates who have competed to the Rectorate of the University and publish it on the official website.
The academic units first announce the preliminary results, on the basis of which the results of the candidates who have not been accepted gain the right to appeal, and only after the examination of the appeals do the final lists appear which in no case should exceed the total number of places announced in the competition. Candidates who are at the bottom of the accepted list according to the preliminary results are not guaranteed a place until the end of the appeal period.
